My journey with this platform is deeply personal, rooted in my profound love for animals and my own experiences as a pet parent. I understand firsthand the challenges and worries that come with ensuring our furry companions receive the best care, especially during emergencies.

The idea for Vet Connect was born from these experiences, including the heart-wrenching loss of two beloved pets—one during the COVID lockdown and another due to the lack of emergency services at critical hours of the night. These moments emphasized the importance for accessible and reliable veterinary care advice in Kuwait.

At Vet Connect, we are more than just a service; we are a lifeline for pet parents. Our platform is designed to offer the support, advice, and solutions needed to ensure that no pet parent ever feels helpless or alone in caring for their furry family members.

Dr. Ramy Essa is a distinguished veterinarian with a wealth of experience and international exposure.
He graduated from Cairo University in 2009, following which he pursued further training and specialization abroad.

From 2009 to 2010, Dr. Essa honed his skills at Zurich University in Switzerland, focusing on advanced veterinary practices.
In 2010 to 2011, he furthered his expertise in ophthalmology at a prestigious hospital in Manchester, England.
This was followed by a year at a small animal hospital in Vienna from 2011 to 2012, where he gained valuable insights into animal care and treatment methodologies.

Dr. Essa is a proud member of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA), highlighting his commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. He has since established a successful private clinic, where he continues to provide exceptional care to animals, leveraging his extensive knowledge and expertise for the betterment of his patients.

Sandra Grossmann is a certified companion animal nutritionist and certified feline training and behavior specialist, the owner of The Feline Consultant LLC. Sandra holds a B.S. in Food Science from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany and has over 28 years of experience in companion animal nutrition. Sandra is a passionate advocate for the unique nutritional and behavioral needs of cats.

After leaving the corporate industry in 2019, she completed the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s (UIUC) Companion Animal Nutrition certification whilst also launching her business. In July 2021, she graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Program at the Animal Behavior College (ABC) and completed her Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) certification from The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) in June 2022.

Since December 2021 she is a certified feline training and behavior specialist with the Animal Behavior Institute. Also a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC, Pet Professional Guild. (PPG) and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).

Cats are fascinating animals and often misunderstood. They have a different metabolism and display different behavioral traits compared to dogs. Cats often get accused of being low maintenance and less personable. As the founder of The Feline Consultant, her mission is to help cat parents better understand and cope with their cat’s behavioral challenges.

Nutrition and behavior are deeply intertwined, and she aims to provide science-based information, and practical solutions to foster a deeper bond between cats and their humans.

Sandra is a master’s student at Virginia Tech with a concentration in Animal Welfare and Behavior.
